Saturday was Dylan's first (of I'm sure MANY) official organized sport experience. I hadn't planned on having Dylan start playing organized sports until he was a bit older, but so many of his friends are playing sports at school and he asked me (continuously) SO nicely to sign him up for t-ball.
So, we are playing t-ball this fall...it's very low key! For 3-5 year olds...main objective is to have fun, followed by learning about sportsmanship and the rules of the game. Each week its 30 minutes of practice followed by a 30 minute game.
D ABSOLUTELY loved it!! Many of the kiddos were crying or had no desire to focus on the game...D was intense about it the whole time. He LOVED batting, but thinks the field is kind of boring (it truly is, actually). He did a great job running the bases and cheering for his teammate.
My heart definitely swelled as I watched Dylan interact with his coaches and his teammates...I can't believe how old he is getting!
Afterwards, Mark pitched to Dylan...he prefers being pitched to because he can "bam" the ball harder :)
Also, a VERY happy birthday (one day late) to Namma!!! We played golf with her on Sunday to celebrate, and then Will, Andrea and I took her to the Royals game (Andrea got the fancy Diamond Club seats) last night. Namma, thanks for being such an important part of all of our lives! We love you!!
Happy birthday Namma!
ReplyDeleteAnd, cant wait to watch lots of sports over the years.
