"The tassel's worth the hassle!" ~ Aunt Nicki

We're in Chicago for Aunt Nicki's graduation :) She didn't really say the quote above, but it made me laugh so hard she agreed to let me use it! Dylan did great on the flight...decided he wasn't really into sleeping but was super smiley and loved playing peek-a-boo with everybody on the plane. He also loved my water cup that I wisely got with a lid and straw to avoid spilling...who knows why we spend money on toys, that thing kept him occupied for almost 30 minutes!

We heard from the surgeon today, and as he suspected it was not his testicle that he saw on Monday. So the good news is that Dylan's testicle is likely still functioning somewhere in his abdomen...the bad news is it means another surgery. We'll probably schedule it for early fall so Aunt Nicki is back from her adventures around the world (try not to be too jealous, she'll have been to 5 continents this year when she gets back!). Dr. Ostlie will also have to go in through D's stomach so he'd like to give him a few months more of recovery from the last surgery before opening him up again.

I am now up to approximately 89 pics I need to post and will have many more from this weekend...hopefully, I'll get them up soon!!

For now, congrats to Aunt Nicki! We're so proud of you :) Welcome to the graduate degree club!!

A plastic cup, a lid and a straw...what could be better?!?

D before boarding our flight...he was waving and blowing kisses at all the people getting off the plane. It was super cute!

UPDATE:

We're home and doing well! Dylan took a 3 hour nap when we got home and then ate a great lunch full of roni and cheese and almost a whole can of pears! He's been in great spirits and doesn't seem to be in much pain. After some play time with Aunt Nicki and a walk, he's down for another nap.

He's a bit groggy, but had no problem shoveling in the mac-n-cheese :)

Dylan is out of surgery and in post-op recovery. He did great and was a rock star like he is at pretty much everything!

The surgery was a little bit disappointing...Dr. Ostlie located what they thought was the testicle in Dylan's groin. He is unsure if it was the testicle so we have to wait a while to know the next steps...Dr. Ostlie removed the mass (because it was no longer functional) and we will find out later this week if it was the testicle. If it was the good news is that we are done with surgeries. If it wasn't, Dr. Ostlie will have to go back in with a scope in the abdomen and find the testicle and either bring it into to place or remove it if it's no longer functioning.

I'm a ball of emotions right now...haven't gotten much sleep this past week and I'm unsure how to process all of this...just got the call to come meet him!! More later!!

A Birthday Trifecta!!

Dylan is having surgery tomorrow morning, (hopefully his last one!) to fix his undescended testicle. He is the first case again, so surgery is at 7:30 and we have to be there at 6:00 a.m. This surgery is much more minor than the last and should take less than an hour. Its outpatient, but he still has to go under anesthesia so of course is still pretty stressful...we'll take another round of thoughts/prayers and I promise to post an update tomorrow after surgery.

I still have a million pics to post and lots of fun stories to tell...and as soon as I get a free minute I will post them!

But for now, a lot of very important people were born this weekend various years ago...here's a few pictures celebrating them!! We love you guys!!!

Happy birthday, Beth!! Welcome to the other side :)

Happy birthday, Aunt Andrea!! I love you so much :)

Happy birthday, Grandma Toni!! Here's looking forward to many more fun adventures and trips together!!

Lucky # 14

Happy 14 month birthday, Dylan :) As you can see, he's definitely following in mommy and daddy's footsteps and already LOVES Vegas. We had a great trip and I have a couple of picture marathons to come...but wanted to get these up!!!

Dylan enjoying some black jack action at Caesar's Palace. The best was the crowd that gathered saying how cute he was! And then the lady telling me, "Ma'am, your baby isn't allowed to sit at the black jack table!". And my response, "Oh really!? Sorry, I didn't know!" Gotta love Vegas!!

Dylan has a bit of a cold and wasn't super thrilled about the Bellagio fountains. The music was super loud where we were and I think it scared him. However, he looks awfully cute in this pic :)
