The Most Magical Place on Earth!!

You might guess that my miss in posting last week was because there wasn't anything big to write about...in fact, it's just the opposite!  I have so many fun things to post about, that I just got overwhelmed!!  That and I was battling a cold and kept falling asleep at night instead of blogging!  So, I've decided to break it up into a couple of different posts...starting with one of the most exciting...Disney World!!

We had a great time at Disney!  A HUGE thanks to Grandma Toni for arranging the trip!  I was a little nervous because D is scared of characters, but he had a great time!  His favorites include: the teacups, the Dumbo ride with NiNi, the race cars and the curly Q slide at the swimming pool!

I think D thinks one day they might just let him fly the plane :)

We stayed in a cabin that had bunk beds.  Dylan liked reading bedtime stories up there!

On the bus/boat heading to Magic Kingdom!!

Uncle Bill (Zach and NiNi's uncle) works at one of the hotels at Disney.  He hung out with us for a few hours at the Magic Kingdom and we met him for dinner on Saturday night.  It was great getting to see him and we are very grateful to him for getting us the tickets to the park!!  He also gave D a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal that has very quickly become one of Dylan's favorite possessions.  He even took it to preschool last week for show and tell!

You'll see in most of the pics with characters, D has a very suspicious/anxious/borderline terrified look on his face!

The only version of Goofy D liked (a statue)...Goofy particularly scared Dylan.  I think because he's so tall!

Aunt NiNi and I (back row) on Splash Mountain!

Dylan actually did like Donald and Daisy...I think it's because they were smaller!

As we were leaving the Magic Kingdom, the parade was just ending.  D wasn't super sure about it (full of characters and loud music!)  Then he saw Mary Poppins (Papa's favorite and quickly becoming one of the kiddos favorites as well!)  He was SO excited!!

Some fun at the park on the way back to the cabin...of course, D loves climbing and sliding more than just about anything!

On Saturday, we headed to Animal Kingdom.  It was very cool and the "safari" ride was one of the coolest things I've ever been on.  Even Aunt NiNi said it kind of made a real safari seem a bit overrated because you got to see so many animals in such a short time!

My little Pluto :)

We went to an awesome lunch with the characters!  D liked Donald and Daisy, was okay around Mickey but panicked if Goofy was anywhere close to him!  Luckily, all of the people at Disney are amazing and are very sensitive to the kiddos not liking the characters!

I won't bore you with a million animal pics from the safari...but this is the baby white rhino that was stopped in the road.  We had to wait over 5 minutes for the baby and mama to move...according to our guide, you do not want to get between a mama rhino and her baby.  It was funny because at one point I looked behind me and there were a whole bunch of safari jeeps backed up, all waiting :)

Waiting for the Nemo puppet show...turns out the only part of the show Dylan liked was the ice cream sandwich Aunt NiNi bought him.  D watched it for about 5 minutes and then decided he found it more scary than fun.  We decided to leave...when we got outside, we found ourselves in the middle of a monsoon!  We headed to the bus and by the time we got there, I'm not sure we would've been more wet if we had jumped into a pool.  Luckily, it was warm enough and kind of fun :)

We went back to our cabin and put on dry clothes.  Luckily, the rain stopped and we went to downtown Disney with Uncle Bill for dinner at T-Rex.

On Sunday, we hit up the pool.  Like I said, the pool was one of Dylan's favorite parts of the whole trip.  They had a kiddo area with slides that Dylan liked until he tried the big kid slide.  He was a little scared at first, but they let him wear his floaties.  By the end, he didn't even want one of us down there to catch him...he would go down the slide and swim to the side to do it again!  He asks me at least once a week when we can go back to the slide!!

"the baby slide"

An awesome pic of D at the bottom of the curly q slide :)

So there you have it...we had a GREAT time at Disney!!  D really liked it and it will be a great watching what things he likes as we go back to Disney as he grows up!
