Wednesday Weekly Review - Slumber Party!!

We had a nice weekend in KC!  We went to a birthday party on Saturday, followed by some pool time and a slumber party at our house.  The kiddos were all great and we had so much fun together!

Green eggs and... pancakes!  Namma is a professional pancake maker and made all the kids Mickey Mouse pancakes as well as letters for their names.

On Sunday after naps, we headed to Craig Street for some playtime and dinner.  D was very excited to play in his blow up pool with the elephant slide.  My brother and dad decided that the elephant slide wasn't nearly exciting enough, so they hooked up the hose to the play-set slide and we created our own version of the slip-n-slide.  I tried it one time, but i am too tall and was worried about popping the pool!

D got some major speed on the slide!  And we kept the elephant slide in the pool as a backstop...he would cruise down the slide and then slam into it.  He LOVED it and would've done it all night if I hadn't made him come in for dinner!

Wednesday Weekly Review - Table Rock Lake

I had grand plans of updating the blog last night for all of the Cali and All Star Game pics...that is before I fell asleep around instead, here's a brief preview of our past weekend in paradise (a.k.a. the VdV house at Table Rock Lake!).  We had an amazing time!!!  Erin and Kris took a million pics, so many more to come, here are just a few I took on my phone or Larsy's phone!

Looking at pictures with Kris on her phone!

Boat ride with Erin!

Lounging in the pool!

Practicing floating on his back!

D continues to make me laugh with the funny things he says!  My dad actually commented last night how much his vocabulary has grown in the past few months!  A few of his random musings lately...

Maggie has started drinking soy milk.  When Dylan tried it for the first time, he took a sip, paused for a minute and then said, it tastes like play dough.  I'm not going to lie, I tried it and it does indeed taste a bit like play dough!

Last night, I asked Dylan what his favorite vegetable is...he thought about it for a second, looked at me, smiled and said, "cornbread!".

A few random pics too cute not to share...please ignore the brown grass in our yard.  Turns out, 100+ degree weather is not good for keeping grass green!

Launching rockets!

Driving his truck!

Wednesday Weekly Review - California Dreaming...of Southpaw?!?

Okay, so I'll admit...this past week has been crazy, even by my standards!!!  We headed to Long Beach on the 4th of July for our annual reunion with my mom's side of the family.  All 5 of her siblings made it along with many cousins and the next generation.  It was coldish there (a welcome change from KC) and we had a blast!  I have a million pics/stories to post, but I'm too worn out to do it tonight!  For now, here's a pic of the great-grand kids that were there and Great Grandpa Bodie!

As you would guess with all these was chaos!!

After we got back from California, Carrie Mac came into town for the All Star Game!!  It was so nice getting to spend so much time with Carrie and it was definitely the experience of a lifetime!!  Many more pics/stories to come from the ASG weekend as well!!

Carrie Mac and I at the All Star Game!!!  (yes, I know I'm sporting a White Sox shirt...but I maintain that I am a Southpaw fan not a Sox fan!)

Look who we ran into...Southpaw!!!

The craziness continues as we are heading to paradise (aka the VanDeVelde lake house) this weekend!  We are SO excited for some relaxation and some major hang time with the girls (plus D and Baby Grant!).

Wednesday Weekly Review - Tugging, Shooting and Swimming...Oh My!

First off, Happy 4th of July!!  Hope everyone had a great day!!  Last Saturday, I participated in the last corporate challenge event!  As with every year, I'm a bit relieved and a bit sad that it's all over!  This year, we finished 4th overall (a bit disappointing), but ended the year on a high note with a gold in the Tug of War.  It's actually one of my favorite events and had a great time, even though it was EARLY Saturday morning!

Saturday afternoon, my work group headed out to the Messenger Ranch for The Shootout Part Deux!  We had a GREAT time, even though it was super hot!

Don't mess with me!

Ben claims Vicki "fell" into the lake :)

Terry decided to take matters into his own hands with a little "lake vaulting".  Seems like something I might need to try someday...and I wonder where Dylan gets it!!

On Sunday, it was so hot that the only real option to being outside was the swimming pool!  Dylan, Namma and I actually went in the morning pre lunch and naps and then the Morris family joined us in the afternoon after naps.  We had a great time at the pool and all the kiddos are turning into very good swimmers!

Just a random, cute picture :)  D and I went to Wal-Mart on Monday, and then to IHOP for dinner.  Here's Dylan enjoying his chocolate chip pancakes!
