We headed to Chicago last weekend for the 4th annual Chicago Cubs game in Zach's honor. This year, we were able to have the game on his birthday which made it even more special. Andrea, the kiddos and I all flew out on Friday evening. Everything went very smoothly, and we were all super excited to be in Chicago. Chris and NiNi actually landed a few minutes before us and met us at the gate. I forgot how fun it is to have people meet you at the gate since the new security rules don't let you.
On Saturday morning Namma and Papa met us at Grandma Toni and Grandpa Karl's house for bagels. Then we headed downtown for the Cubs game.
D and Great Grandma Pat
After the Cubs game, we continued the Giordano's tradition! I sure do love their pizza! This year, we also had cupcakes to celebrate Aunt NiNi's 30th birthday!!
After pizza, we took the train one stop back to the car!
On Saturday night, there was a block party on Grandma Toni and Grandpa Karl's street. The kiddos were all SUPER excited to get to play in the street. They colored lots of pictures and enjoyed the bounce house!
Grandma Toni got the kiddos glow sticks while they were in the bathtub. They had fun playing with them on the deck.
Whenever we visit Aunt NiNi, she gets up early with Dylan so I can get some much appreciated extra sleep (they both love their breakfast dates with each other!). On Sunday, Ella and Dylan woke up and Aunt NiNi decided that a fun trip to the park in pajamas was in order. After Maggie woke up, we joined them there and let Andrea sleep in. The kids had a great time at the park!! And of course, Ella, Dylan and NiNi stopped at the store for donuts on they way! It was a good thing we got the early outdoor time in, because it proceeded to rain the rest of the day! If you ask Dylan and Ella what their favorite part about Chicago was they both will tell you going to the park with Aunt NiNi!!
One last story with Aunt NiNi before the plane!
Another huge thank you to Grandma Toni and Grandpa Karl! They make traveling to Chicago seamless! They are so thoughtful with having all of the kiddos favorite foods (and the grown ups too!) and are so accommodating even though 3 kiddos definitely equals chaos :)
Another big thank you to Aunt NiNi for coordinating the Cubs game. It means a lot to both me and Dylan and we are very appreciative to everybody who takes the time to come to the game. It's a tradition that I hope continues for many years to come!!
Wordless Wednesdays are my favorite part of Thursday morning! Thanks for a great time in Chicago.
